In 2000, after several business trips to London (where he enjoyed several famous London pubs) and trips to California (where he first encountered an American style microbrewery), Rick, and his wife Patti, were inspired to start a brewery near his home in New Jersey. He attended the American Brewers Guild brewing school and purchased the brew house, tanks, bottling line, cold box and essential equipment for his Fairfield location in 2001. September 11th caused a delay in getting their FBI background checks in order to get their brewery license, but this delay resulted in time to fine tune the recipe for East Coast Lager, Cricket Hill's best selling beer!
Ed became involved in Cricket Hill in 2006 when he and his wife Gwen started to volunteer at brewfests, marketing events, and beer bottling. In 2011, he became General Manager and led efforts to streamline operations, update brand marketing, and develop new products. In 2014, Ed became Co-Owner and continues to build Cricket Hill into a brewery with a beer lineup enjoyed by customers.
Eric started working at Cricket Hill fall of 2022. Look for new brew styles from him soon!
More info on Nolan's background and role at Cricket Hill coming soon!
Gwen, when not at a book club, hanging with her 5 grandchildren or tending to her garden, she's behind the bar at Cricket Hill, talking up beer, and serving your favorite Jersey fresh brews.
Wayne is one of our sales reps focused on selling and educating bars, retail liquor stores, restaurants and country clubs on the amazing quality and diversity of Cricket Hill beers. When not selling, he can be found at the brewery tending bar or helping bottle. Wayne enjoys working beerfests and tasting events to engage with fellow craft beer lovers.
We could not function without the help of our trusty Cricket Hill canning volunteers!
